A rock-cut Shiva temple at Thiruthangal near Sivakasi, ascribed to the Pandyas and extended in 1233 CE by Gurukalathirayan, a minister of Sundara Pandya.
Thiruthangal is said to take its name from Ranganatha's halt here for a night on his way to seek the hand of Andal.
