History & significance

A soapstone trikuta temple of about 1286 CE with a three-storey Vesara vimana, built by the brothers Appayya, Gopala and Madhava under Hoysala king Narasimha III; it is one of the last Hoysala temples raised before the Delhi Sultanate invasions, and is an ASI-protected monument.
