A 15th-century Vijayanagara-period temple at Khanapur, about 15 km from Bidar on the Udgir road, dedicated to Khandoba in his Kannada form Mailar Mallanna.
Khandoba as Martanda Bhairava is said to have slain the demons Mallasura and Manikasura; the dying Malla gave up his white horse and asked that his spirit abide in every shrine of the god.
