శ్రీ పల్లికొండేశ్వర స్వామి ఆలయం (సురుటుపల్లి)
Surutupalle, Andhra Pradesh · 13.3348°, 79.8746°
A rare shrine where Shiva is shown reclining with his head on Parvati's lap, built under the Vijayanagara ruler Harihara Bukka Raya in the 1340s, renovated by a princess of Kalahasti in 1833 and reconsecrated in 2002.
Worn out after swallowing the poison churned from the ocean, Shiva is said to have rested his head on Parvati's lap at this spot while the gods waited for him to recover.
