The confluence temple where the Bhavani meets the Kaveri, known in the Tevaram as Thirunana; Sambandar dedicated ten hymns of the second Thirumurai to its deity, and Arunagirinathar later sang its Subramanya.

Sthala katha — the legend

Kubera, flying overhead, is said to have seen a deer, tiger, cow, elephant, snake and rat drinking together beneath an ilandhai tree, revealing the sanctity of the confluence.
