A Krishna shrine in Kurabalakota mandal whose early fabric is linked to Chola and Ganga patronage, and which the Hoysala king Veera Ballala endowed with land in 1298. It is sought out by couples praying for children, the deity being invoked as Santana Venugopala.

Krishna is said to have appeared in a Ganga ruler's dream; his chariot wheel stuck fast at the spot, and digging there revealed the image that was installed at Sage Koundinya's ashram.
