A Hoysala-period Jain temple at Jinanathapura, just north of Shravanabelagola, dedicated to the sixteenth Tirthankara Shantinatha. Raised around 1117 during Vishnuvardhana's reign and attributed to Recana, a general and minister of Ballala II, it is admired for the dense lathe-turned pillars and wall sculpture typical of Hoysala work.
