History & significance

A Paadal Petra Sthalam glorified in the Tevaram, held sacred as the place where the child-saint Sambandar ended his earthly life. Tradition places his wedding here, after which he and the assembly merged into the divine light.

Saint Sambandar's spirit is believed to have merged with Shiva at this shrine on his wedding day.
