A Digambara Jain atishaya kshetra in Chikkamagaluru district whose principal shrine is dedicated to the yakshi Jwalamalini, shown seated in sukhasana with eight arms. The site is associated with the Yapaniya branch of the Mula Sangha, and a fourteenth-century inscription survives on an image in its Shantinatha basadi.
What follows is the temple’s own traditional account, transmitted through liturgy and local memory. It is recorded here as tradition, not as attested history.
Tradition holds that the ascetic Chikka Samantabhadra brought the Jwalamalini image from another Jain centre and installed it at Simhanagadde.
