A Tamil Shaiva Siddhanta temple that stood at Dhoby Ghaut from about 1850 until 1983, spent a decade in a transit temple on Serangoon Road, and was rebuilt at Geylang East for S$6 million on an octagonal plan consecrated in May 1993. Its towers follow North Indian design while worship inside follows Tamil Shaivite custom, an unusual pairing in Singapore.
