History & significance

One of Singapore's oldest Hindu temples, grown from a modest 1830s shrine founded by Rengasamy Mooriyar into a major Serangoon Road sanctuary of the fierce Kali form Vadapathira Kaliamman. Rebuilt in 1984 and again renovated in 2015, it was reconsecrated in December 2016 with a pair of 4.2-metre Garuda and Hanuman figures.
