A Shiva temple at Andankoil in the Valangaiman taluk of Tiruvarur district, built in the Dravidian manner. Its founding tradition connects it to a minister of the legendary king Muchukunda.
The story goes that the minister Kandadevar found a shivalinga after Shiva appeared to him in a dream and built a temple over it, and that King Muchukunda had him beheaded before realising his error and restoring him to life.
