Thukkachi, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu · 10.9270°, 79.4827°
A Chola temple on the Arasalar river at Thukkachi, east of Kumbakonam, built under Rajendra Chola I and enlarged by Vikrama Chola; its vimana resembles that of the Airavatesvara temple at Darasuram, and a restoration carried out between 2015 and 2023 drew UNESCO recognition.
Vikrama Chola, afflicted with vitiligo, is said to have been told by the deity in a dream while camped near Thukkachi to worship here for forty-eight days, after which he was cured.
