A laterite pidha-vimana temple of Somavamsi date at Avana in Balasore district, pancharatha in plan, enshrining a chlorite image of Chamunda. It remains in worship and is a protected monument of the Odisha State Archaeology, its loose sculpture including a four-armed Avalokiteshvara that points to a Buddhist presence at the site.
