History & significance

A shrine at Ajodhya in Balasore district where a late 11th-century goddess image is worshipped as Durga beside a figure of the Buddhist goddess Marici. The site preserves an unusual mix of tantric, Buddhist and Jain sculpture, including a Buddha in bhumisparsa mudra and a Jain tirthankara.
