A Chola Shiva temple at Govindaputtur on the north bank of the Kollidam, built in 980 CE under Uttama Chola through his officer Ambalavan Paluvur Nakkan. It is counted among the Vaippu Sthalams and is praised in the Tevaram hymns of Appar and Sambandar.
