A Vishnu temple at Tirumazhisai near Chennai, one of the 108 Abhimana Kshetrams and revered as the birthplace of the Alvar Thirumalisai. Its oldest inscription dates from the reign of Kulothunga Chola III, and later grants record patronage by Kopperunjinga and by the Vijayanagara rulers Harihara Raya II and Virupaksha Raya II.
The Saptarishis are said to have asked to see the middle Jagannatha, and Vishnu appeared here between Vada Jagannatha at Puri and Keezha Jagannatha at Thirupullani.
