திங்களூர்
Thingalur, Tamil Nadu · 10.8867°, 79.1256°
One of the nine Navagraha temples of Tamil Nadu, assigned to the Moon, standing between Thanjavur and Kumbakonam. The site is praised in the 7th-century Tevaram as a Vaippu Sthalam, and its present masonry was built by the Nayaks over an earlier Chola complex.
The moon god Chandra is said to have worshipped Kailasanathar here after a curse dimmed him, and to have regained his powers in return.
