A 12th-century Shiva temple at Thangassery attributed to an order of the Chera ruler Rama Kulasekhara, counted among the 108 Shiva temples of Kerala; it has a rectangular sanctum with stone and wood carving, a copper flagstaff, two towers and two recorded inscriptions.
The sage Parasurama is held in tradition to be its founder.
