History & significance

A Divya Desam of the Kuttanad tract glorified in the Nalayira Divya Prabandham, with inscriptions of the Second Chera empire; among the five Pandava temples of the region it is attributed to Bhima.

Sthala katha — the legend

Bhima is said to have raised this shrine to Krishna during the Pandavas' final pilgrimage along the Pamba.
