A hill temple on the outskirts of Chennai attributed to Kulothunga Chola II, and said to be the only Murugan shrine in Tamil Nadu where the god faces north. It is administered by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.
Murugan is said to have halted on this hill while travelling from Tiruporur to Tiruttani after defeating the demons, which is why the site is called South Thanigai.
