History & significance

A Shiva temple 3 km from Papanasam credited to Aditya Chola I and counted among the Vaippu Sthalams sung by Sambandar. Its prakaram holds an unusual Subramania shrine in which the god stands with Valli and Devasena while holding the conch and discus.
