The largest of the Jain temples in the eastern group at Khajuraho, raised between about 950 and 970 by a prominent Jain family in the reign of the Chandela king Dhanga and carrying an inscription of 954; its oblong plan runs from entrance porch through mandapa and vestibule to the sanctum, where a Parshvanatha image was installed in 1860.
