A soapstone temple of the late eleventh century, unusual in facing west, whose original dedication is debated: loose sculptures and damaged wall images suggest it may have served Vaishnava and Jain worship before becoming Shaiva. Inscriptions of 1087 and 1108 survive within it, and a 1067 record names Haveri as an old centre of learning.
