History & significance

A Kalyani Chalukya monument in Lakshmeshwara whose records indicate it began as a Jain temple before passing to Shaiva worship; the sanctum image shows Shiva seated on Nandi. The Archaeological Survey of India restored the building between 2012 and 2015 with support from the Infosys Foundation.
