History & significance

A brick-and-stone temple at Bagan built in 1183 by King Narapatisithu, close in design to the Thatbyinnyu, influenced by the Dhammayangyi and in turn a model for the later Htilominlo. Damaged by the earthquake of 1975 and rebuilt in 1994, it retains interior frescoes and is one of Bagan's most visited monuments.
