History & significance

A Paadal Petra Sthalam on the Kaveri, sung by the Nayanar Tirugnanasambandar and known in older texts as Thirunedungalam. The Archaeological Survey has recorded Tamil inscriptions on its door jambs dated to the 34th and 44th regnal years of Kulottunga Chola I.
