A royal relic monastery in the centre of Ayutthaya, recorded in the royal chronicles as founded in 1374 by Borommarachathirat I together with the elder Thammakanlayan and expanded ten years later by his nephew Ramesuan. Now a ruin, it is among the most important temple sites of the UNESCO-listed historic city.
