Majuli, Assam · 26.9402°, 94.1238°
The first satra taken under Ahom royal patronage and one of the four raj satras, founded on Majuli about 1653 with Niranjana Deva Goswami as its first satradhikar under king Sutamla, later Jayadhwaj Singha. Belonging to the Brahma Sanghati of Ekasarana Dharma and housing celibate monks, it did much to formalise the Hinduisation of the Ahom court and holds nearly 150 historical manuscripts and royal artefacts.
