A Shiva temple on a hillock in northern Tezpur, endowed during Ahom rule when Tungkhungia kings granted it land and appointed its priests and attendants. The old stone shrine has since been rebuilt in concrete, and the temple is now run by a committee under the Government of Assam.
The lingam is believed to be of living stone that slowly grows, and King Bana is said to have gained his prosperity by worshipping Shiva here.
