A hillock temple near Dergaon whose original stone shrine of the eighth or ninth century was lost to floods and shifting river courses; the linga was recovered from the shallows of the Dihing and the Ahom king Rajeswar Singha raised the present brick temple over it in 1765. It follows a panchayatana plan with corner shrines to Vishnu, Ganesha, Surya and Durga around a three-foot Banalinga, and is a nationally protected monument.
A sage named Urba is said to have wished to found a second Kashi here and to have gathered many Shiva lingas on the spot.
