History & significance

An astronomy-linked shrine on Chitrachal Hill whose sanctum holds nine lingams for the nine celestial bodies, each draped in a colour assigned to its planet. Wrecked by the earthquake of 1697, it was rebuilt in full by the Ahom ruler Rajeswara Singha in 1752.
