The fifth Sikh Takht, founded in 1705 where Guru Gobind Singh rested after the Anandpur campaigns and dictated the definitive recension of the Guru Granth Sahib to Bhai Mani Singh. The scholarly work done here earned the place the title 'Guru Ki Kashi'; it was recognised as a Takht by the SGPC in 1966 and confirmed by the Indian government in 1999.
