A Shakta shrine at Jakhalabandha in Nagaon district built in Sakabda 1667, that is 1745–46 CE, by the Ahom king Pramatta Singha, and long an important centre of goddess worship in Assam. Historical accounts record that human sacrifice was once offered at its altars.
