History & significance

A 26 m Shiva temple on the south bank of the Rudrasagar tank, some 8 km from Sivasagar, built in 1773 in the reign of Lakshmi Singha under the supervision of Madan Darika Hajarika and consecrated under Gaurinath Singha. It is the last temple of the Ahom period and marks the end of that kingdom's temple building.
