History & significance

An Ahom-period Shiva temple raised in 1703 on the bank of the Joysagar tank near the Talatal Ghar, built under the Ahom king Sukhrungphaa (Rudra Singha). It remains an active place of worship and an example of early 18th-century Assamese temple building.
